Let the wind chimes jingle once more
See the freshly thatched roof, the clean-swept floors
A husband to marry and babes to nurse
As you sip your hot tea in the present moment
Think not of your condition
But of the soft wool spinning, winding around the spindle
Atropos will come soon enough
Take care not to prick your finger
Lest you become Sleeping Beauty
Because there may not be a handsome prince
He'll forget his way in the lavender fields
Will you have more tea?
It's made from the waters of Lethe
Will you go wandering away from your little cottage?
Avoid the slimy mud around the pond
The water stagnates there
You wave away the mosquitoes
Humming in your ear
But they're only trying to tell you something
Important
What is important?
Remember how much you liked to play with the furry cattails
When you were a child?
The air presses close with electrified humidity
The weatherman is wrong again
It will rain tonight
